Currently Wearing: Plaid for the Holidays

Today was one of those day I was feeling uninspired. The gloomy weather that has seemed to taken up residence in San Antonio the past few days wasn't helping either. So, being the determined fashion enthusiast that I am, I turned to a few of my closet's long time members to carry me through the day.

Everything I am wearing today is something I've owned for at least 3+ years. While some may think this is a fashion blogger no-no, to me its a total style win. Creating a wardrobe and developing a true sense of style can not be done when one only wears the latest and greatest of trends.

Now, don't get me wrong, trends get me just as giddy as the next fashion blogger, but there's just something about pieces that last season after season, year after year, and never lose their appeal. If you've followed along with the fashion world for a while now, I am sure you've heard about the curation of a capsule wardrobe, and why it is imperative in developing a lifelong sense of personal style. I'm not going to go into that today, but I will be talking more about creating a capsule wardrobe in the future (hint, hint at things to come on the blog in the new year.) For now I'm just going to share this little OOTD with you. I hope you enjoy.

A little plaid skirt always leaves me feeling a little Clueless - the movie that is. So I will admit, I did have a bit of a Cher wardrobe movie moment after deciding on this little plaid pencil skirt. I took some style inspo from Cher and Dion and added some fun knee high socks to my ensemble. Am I sorry? As if!

All the outfit details: Turtleneck, knee high socks, and Coat: Forever 21 // Skirt: Gianni Bini // Boots: Michael Kors // Handbag: Tory Burch //

My favorite place to shop for Gianni Bini and Michael Kors? -- Dillards.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

xo, Brit
